Guidebook

Disney Twisted-Wonderland's official localisation is due to be released on 20th January 2022. For your ease of access, the wiki team has compiled a tutorial to help you get started. Most of this was translated from the HELP section in the game's Japanese server and by the players in the Twisted Wonderland (ENG) Discord channel. Please feel free to ask us if anything is confusing and we hope you find this guide helpful!

Creating an Account[edit | edit source]
After downloading the game, open the app. You are greeted with a voiced "Twisted Wonderland" by Dire Crowley as the TOP (Title) screen of the game will appear. Tap the screen and a window will pop-up.
Tap the brown "Terms of Service" button to read the terms and conditions. Tap the black "I Agree" button after reading the Terms of Service and Use.

Input in your Player Name and Protagonist Name. It cannot be more than 8 characters long. Tap the "OK" button to continue.

Starting Character[edit | edit source]
There are 7 dormitories to choose from: Heartslabyul, Savanaclaw, Octavinelle, Scarabia, Pomefiore, Ignihyde, and Diasomnia.
Within each dorms, pick a student and "Take Their Hand" by tapping the purple button. Then a prompt will say, "––––You have no regrets?". Tap the gray "No" button to choose a different student and the purple "Yes" button to proceed. You will then receive that character's (Ceremonial Robes) card.

Data Download[edit | edit source]
After selecting a Starting Character, the game will ask if you like to download the voice data to your device. Tap the black "Download" button to confirm.
Once the voice data has been downloaded, players will have the option to download the rest of the game's data during the tutorial. Tap the gray "Proceed without downloading" to download the game's data after the tutorial or tap the black "Proceed while downloading" button to continue.

First Battle[edit | edit source]
A battle will commence with the starting character you selected along with two other guest characters in your team against a massive dark, blue-flamed chimera beast. The guest characters in your team will vary depending on which starting character was selected.
The battle lasts for 3 Turns before the beast uses Zero Breath [III], a 3-hit attack, and defeat your team.
~ Dire Crowley
First Rhythmic[edit | edit source]
On Prologue 2, a rhythm minigame will play as you read through the story. Tap anywhere on the screen when the note is closer on the target to score points. The story scenario changes mid-game depending on whether the player met the score requirement on each phase.
First Summon[edit | edit source]
You will get your first summon before Prologue 8 and will obtain 1 SSR card, 2 SR cards, and 7 R cards. Select the brown "Reroll" button to roll as many times until you are satisfied with the characters pull result.
[Translated Note: You can "Reroll" the tutorial gacha. Select "OK" to continue. SSR has 5 from Heartslabyul dormitory, and 3 from Savanaclaw dormitory. Only one is selected from a total of eight.]
- The Tutorial Gacha is the ONLY gacha to allow infinite rerolls, so choose your characters wisely, before proceeding with the next section of the Prologue by clicking the black "OK" button. (Check out all the characters' cards in their Wiki pages (Cards tab) for Stats, Skills, and Buddy info!)
- Tutorial Gacha DOES NOT include recently added SSR characters from the normal gacha pool and Event cards.
You will have another battle minigame in Prologue 8. The game will walk you through forming your first team from your summoned cards. (More details about magic battle will be on the Battle Tab.)
This concludes the prologue tutorial for Twisted-Wonderland. Welcome to Night Raven College––!

- Types of Battles
- Attributes
- Battle Composition

Turn-Based Battles[edit | edit source]
A full turn is comprised of your party’s turn and your opponent’s turn.
During your turn, you will attack using two types of magic selected from your hand. Your opponent will also attack using two types of magic.
Both you and opponent have a total of 10 skills to use before it is reset after Turn 5 (for Unrestricted Battles).
- You can see the opponent's hand by tapping the
arrow button or the mini row of attributes under the opponent icon on your left screen.
You and your opponent will alternate between turns, and you’ll win if you satisfy the victory conditions. These conditions can be found before you start the battle or on the menu during the battle.
Types of Battles[edit | edit source]
There are 3 types of battles you can encounter which each have different victory conditions to be met. These conditions can be found either in the menu mid-game or the beginning of the battle.
Three buttons will appear on the screen: リタイア (Retire), 表示を消す (Turn off display), and 再開 (Resume)
5-Turn Restricted Battle
- Victory Conditions: ① Inflict more damage than your opponent by the end of all the turns, or ② Bring their HP to 0.
Unrestricted Battle
- Victory Conditions: Bring the opponent’s HP to 0.
5-Turn Endurance Battle
- Victory Conditions: ① Survive until the end of all the turns, or ② Bring opponent’s HP to 0.
Attributes[edit | edit source]
Element typing that you can use in the battle against an opponent with advantages, disadvantages, or none.
Make sure to check whether there are pink up-facing arrows (indicates stronger attribute) or grey down-facing arrows (indicates weaker attribute) before selecting your cards.
Each card has two types of magic attributes. Sometimes they will both have the same attribute with different magic effects. (Check the characters' cards in their Wiki pages (Cards tab) for more Magic 1 & 2 info).
Battle Composition[edit | edit source]
Each battle is comprised of 5 cards. You can select 4 of your own cards and 1 support card. Support characters are characters that can aid you during battles. You will be able to select one from a pool of guest characters, your friends, and other players.
Characters have Buddy Bonuses with other characters. On your “Battle Composition” screen, tap the bottom left button reading バディ詳細 (Buddy Details) to see what kind of bonuses you can activate during the battle. (See Buddy Level for more info.)
The button on the right, which reads おまかせ編成 (Random Organization) will automatically form a team for you. You have the option to customize the type of team you’d like to have selected for you. Here are the options:
Battle Interface[edit | edit source]
You can select which character's magic to go 1st and 2nd, view the opponent's side by tapping the arrow icon, see status effects on characters' sprites and look at card's info during battle.
However, you cannot undo your selection after selecting the 2nd magic.

To view each of your cards' magic skills in your team, tap & hold the card's magic icon to see their magic effects.
Each card has stats information that you can view during battle. To view them, tap any character sprite in the middle of the screen. It contains Stats, Status Effects (plus Effect Turns left), Magic, and Buddy info of the card. Tap the change icon to view other cards' info currently in the party.
Duo Magic[edit | edit source]
When you select a specific SSR card character’s magic in a battle, you can activate Duo Magic. Duo Magic adds an additional attack to an SSR's Magic 2 skill. SSR cards require their Magic 2 to be at Lv5 for this to come into effect.

SSR cards will only activate Duo Magic with their compatible character, but all cards of that character are eligible, on that same turn.

Status Effects[edit | edit source]
Buddy Bonuses and Character's & Opponent's Magic Effects will grant buffs or debuffs during battle. Some effects are specifically used by opponents, and have not been made available in any available card so far. These icons are displayed on the bottom corner of the character sprites.

Points & Scores[edit | edit source]
Tap your screen as the notes approach the target. You want to try to tap the second they’re fully on the target.
You can get either a GOOD, GREAT, or PERFECT for every tap, which will determine your final score, a rank from C to SS. (Your rank does not affect anything in the main story).
To achieve a Full Combo, you must only get GREAT or PERFECT taps.
Tapping Area[edit | edit source]
The area you need to tap on the screen depends on the note’s color.
Red & Blue Notes — If you forget which color to tap left or right for, the colors are depicted at the bottom of your screen. Some have also found it helpful to turn your device vertically in cases where all the notes flow from one side, to make them instead fall downward—this will let you better see that blue is left and red is right.
Purple Notes — Rather than moving towards a target, purple notes stay in one place and each shows a timer. Aim to tap them as soon as the purple timer runs out. Additionally, the numbers shown on these notes are meant to count down the order in which you tap them; they don’t represent the actual number of seconds you have to wait.
You may also come across Long-Hold Notes, which must be held for the duration of the note.
They recently released another type of note to the game, a swipe note. Swipe notes, as the name states, have to either be swiped to the left or to the right.
As of Part 2 of Episode 5, yet another type of note has been introduced, the Moving Note. (These notes are for the purple notes only). Moving notes are notes that you tap and follow the line without letting go until you see the next note.
You can pause the game by tapping the menu icon during rhythmic. The tapping area instructions can also be found on the menu.
Three buttons will appear on the screen: リタイア (Retire), 表示を消す (Turn off display), and 再開 (Resume)
Adjustment Settings[edit | edit source]
You have the option to adjust your note tap timing, as well as the volume for background music, tapping sounds, and sound effects. Tap the Others icon on the home screen >
CONFIG > tap リズミック設定 (Rhythmic Settings) second tab on the right. (View Rhythmic Settings in Others for more info).
Set the value greater than 0 for slower timing, and less than 0 for faster timing.
Rhythmic Missions[edit | edit source]
Rhythmics could be played again from the HOME screen by tapping the RHYTHMIC icon. You can earn rewards by playing on different difficulty modes and satisfying the conditions. Tap the Rhythmic Setting icon to make adjustments.

To summon again, select MIRROR after clearing Prologue 8 from the Home screen. (See Summoning Events page for current banners.)
A SSR Guaranteed Summon banner will appear to new players that last for 14 days when opening MIRROR:

10-Roll -300 Free Gems 1 SR or higher Guaranteed |
SSR Guarantee Gauge[edit | edit source]
Sometimes, obtaining SSR cards can be difficult. On the lower-left corner there is an SSR Guarantee Gauge:

The SSR received is random and the gauge will reset after obtaining the card on normal, pick-up, and or limited pick-up banners. If you roll more than 100, the extra rolls will transfer into the reset gauge.
- SSR Pick-up rates are applied during the 100th pull for your SSR Guarantee based on the banner currently rolled on. (Birthday banners are 100% since the only SSR is that featured character.)
- Even if you summon an SSR card before hitting 100 on the guaranteed SSR gauge, the gauge will NOT reset.
- Character/Limited Pick-up Summon banners, DOES NOT carry over leftover roll counts to the next pick-up or limited pick-up banner and will RESET after the end of the pick-up event period. Please keep that in mind!
Keys[edit | edit source]
Various missions, events, and shops will have magical keys used to get a roll without using Gems; with the exception of the Gems Shop. Using keys will count towards rolls for the SSR Guarantee Gauge. Players cannot convert 10 single Magical Key to 1 Magical Keys (x10) and vice versa.

Leveling-up[edit | edit source]
Each card has several different parameters to level up. Leveling up cards will help win battles and unlock extra card features (ie. Personal Story episodes, Duo Magic, Groovy, Voice lines).
The screen will display your deck of cards obtained through Mirror, Events, and SHOP.
Each card has its own Card Profile:
![]() |
![]() |
Card Level (カードLv)[edit | edit source]
Strengthening a card's Card Lv will increase its HP and ATK. These are useful for battles and unlocking Groovy requirements.
How to gain EXP: Participate in History Lessons or using Flowering Nectars.
When Leveling-up a card, there is a chance that the amount of experience gained will increase:
- GOOD → ×1.0
- GREAT → ×1.2~
- EXCELLENT → ×1.5~
(*Multiplier is based on estimates by comparing initial and final Exp gain. Need more data to confirm multipliers.)
Episode Level (エピソードLv)[edit | edit source]
Increasing a card's Episode Lv will unlock Personal Stories and fulfill one of the Groovy requirements.
How to gain Episode EXP: Participate in Flying Lessons, or use Secret Snacks.
Max Episode Lv for each card rarity:
- R cards → Level 2
- SR cards → Level 2
- SSR cards → Level 3
Each level will unlock 1 story episode, with the exception of R cards, so in other words: SSR cards will have 3, SRs have 2, and Rs have 1 episode of their personal story. (Episodes for the [School Uniform] R collection will automatically be unlocked once you obtain them.)
Personal Stories can be read in STORY from the Home Screen > Tap the middle tab on the right side that says パーソナル (Personal) > Select a character to read their Personal Story.
Magic Level (魔法Lv)[edit | edit source]
Each card can use two types of magic: Magic 1 & Magic 2. Each magic types correspond with one of the 4 attributes (Fire, Water, Flora, and Cosmic), and leveling them up requires items specific to its attribute, plus madols. Magic 1 & Magic 2 goes up to Lv10 max.
How to level up: Use the designated books for specific cards. (Notepads, Textbooks, and Grimoires - all obtainable via Alchemy Lessons, TEST, or purchased in the SHOP).
However, there are now event exclusive cards that can only have their magic leveled up by event exclusive items. (ex. Fairy bells, Bow Ties, and Necklaces).
At Magic Lv5 and higher, some skills will unlock additional magic effects and are useful for battles and in TEST. (See Status Effects for effects description.)
- DUO MAGIC is exclusive to SSR cards only and can be unlocked by leveling up their Magic 2 to Lv5. (Check the characters' cards in their Wiki pages (Cards tab) for more Magic 1 & 2 info).
Limit Break (限界突破)[edit | edit source]
To increase a card’s max Lv cap, you must Limit Break a card by obtaining duplicates of the card through MIRROR, SHOP, and perfumes. R cards will increase up to Lv60, SR cards to Lv80, and SSR cards to Lv100 max. Cards can Limit Break 4 times.
Methods to Limit Break:
- Obtaining a duplicate card in MIRROR will automatically Limit Break and increase the Lv cap.

- Manually Limit Break a card using Awakening Perfume. R = 10 (R) Perfume, SR = 10 (SR) Perfume, and SSR = 3 (SSR) Perfume.

Perfumes[edit | edit source]
If you obtain a card that has Limit Break 4 times, you will receive Awakening Perfume instead (Pink (R), Green (SR), or Yellow (SSR) depending on the card’s rarity). Perfumes can be purchased in the SHOP.

Groovy (グルーヴィー)[edit | edit source]

Satisfy the card’s designated requirements, as well as collect that character’s unique Candy (Alchemy Lesson) in order to Groovy a card. The requirements depend on the card’s rarity:
- R cards - Reach Card Lv 20 and clear its Personal Story (1 Episode), one piece of Candy
- SR cards - Reach Card Lv 30 and clear its Personal Story (2 Episodes), 3 pieces of Candy
- SSR cards - Reach Card Lv 40 and clear its Personal Story (3 Episodes), 5 pieces of Candy
How to Groovy a Card:
- Level-up the card through History Lessons and using Flowering Nectars.
- Max a card's Episode Lv through Flying Lessons and using Secret Snacks.
- Read the card's personal stories by clicking STORY from the Home screen and tap the middle tab on the right side.
- Obtain Unique Candies in Alchemy or SHOP using Alchemy Medals.
Once a card is grooved, you could switch illustrations through the character's Card Profile. Tap the magnify icon> Select the third tab that says ビジュアル設定 (Visual Settings).

Buddy Level[edit | edit source]
Increasing a card's Buddy Lv provides a passive buff to that card if those characters are in your party during the beginning of the battle. Leveling Buddy Lv will increase the amount of HP & ATK effect. The number of buddy bonus(es) depends on the card's rarity: SSR = 3 buddies, SR = 2 buddies, and R = 1 buddy. Buddy Lv goes up to Lv10 max.
For example, SR Kalim (Labwear) has two buddies:

Special Lesson[edit | edit source]
Any type of lesson can be interrupted by Dire Crowley, triggering a Special Lesson. Cards are guaranteed to get a Perfect (3 stars) for 5 turns in Alchemy (Buddy Lv), History Lesson (Card Lv), and Flying Lesson (Episode Lv).
On the upper left corner, there is a Special Lesson Gauge. It will show how many lessons turns needed to activate Special Lessons. (about 30 lesson turns total to trigger Special Lesson).
- It is very useful to keep track of the gauge to complete a character's Lesson Tasks (History and Flying only) before triggering a Special Lesson since one of the tasks requires you to trigger the event in either History or Flying lesson when the gauge completely fills up.
- If there are still Special Lesson turns from the previous lesson, you can carry them over to a different type of lesson.

Lesson Items[edit | edit source]
You can use items to increase the results of the lesson. You can use up to 3 items, at the same time, and its effect will last for 5 lessons.
