Epel

I never would've guessed he'd pull this thing off.
 Lilia
Lilia
You mentioned that this was a one sided match, did you not? That was exactly what it was.
Your punches came in slow motion. You had me yawning with how sluggish it all was.
Savanaclaw Student A
Grr... Dammit. I coudn't keep track of his moves at all. When the hell did he lay us out like this?
 Epel
Epel
He took out three guys that were so much bigger than him all at once. I can't believe my eyes.
Savanaclaw Student B
I thought this guy was just the poop from Malleus's goldfish, but he's no normal dude.
 Lilia
Lilia
Have you taken the lesson that judging your opponents merely on appearances can be fatal error to heart yet?
What now? Would you like to keep this training going?
Savanaclaw Student C
Nope, we're good! C'mon guys, w-w-w-we're gettin' outta here!
*scampering away*
 Lilia
Lilia
Kuh hu hu. Since I'm the winner here, the lamp blossom that Epel grew is my spoils.
 Epel
Epel
Ah... So you're just like they are...
 Lilia
Lilia
Hm? Mmmm??? Goodness! What have I done?!
Here I was thinking I needed this for my next class, but I was wrong! Oh gosh, how very careless of me.
Here, Epel. I don't need it so back to you it goes.
 Epel
Epel
I-I really don't see how you're being careless...
...Um, Lilia? I get the feeling that you're tyring to be considerate and all, but that flower is yours.
 Lilia
Lilia
Hm? Why's that?
 Epel
Epel
I'm not about to accept some freebie after I lost to those bozos.
 Lilia
Lilia
Oh hoh hoh, there it is.
Despite your demure appearance you've got quite a bit of moxie, I see.
 Epel
Epel
Same goes for you.
You're about the same size as me, but you took out those big and buff second-years without breaking a sweat. Just who are you?
 Lilia
Lilia
Heh, actually...
...I used to be obsessed with fighting games. Over the course of that obsession, I learned out ot perform those moves myself.
 Epel
Epel
You got that strong just from playing games?
 Lilia
Lilia
That was a joke.
 Epel
Epel
Huh?
 Lilia
Lilia
Anyway. I like how you didn't falter or give an inch against an opponent that was tougher than you quite a bit!
Especially that combo you pulled off at the start. You could polish that to a wonderful shine.
 Epel
Epel
You're not joking...are you?
 Lilia
Lilia
I am not. There is a style of fighting the works perfectly with those of us of small stature.
Would you like me to show you a thing or two?
 Epel
Epel
Y-Yes, please!
 Lilia
Lilia
Then, lesson one for fighting at a smaller stature: find an opening!
It's never a good plan to try fighting someone larger than you head on. They'll simply overpower you.
That's why you must find an opening. Keep dodging your opponent's attack and wait for your chance to strike.
 Epel
Epel
What? That seems a little unmanly...I guess.
 Lilia
Lilia
Just listen. If a small guy keeps dancing around their larger opponent, that will end up irritating them.
Chip away at their patience and their attacks will become more reckless. That's your chance to get inside their guard and let loose.
Aim for their weak points to seal the deal.
 Epel
Epel
I see! The bigger the opponent, the bigger their strike zones...right?
 Lilia
Lilia
Precisely! Next, lesson two: when facing more than one opponent, hide in the shadow of your target.
For example, if you use person A as a shield, then you can strike person B from their blindspot.
This is a strategy we can use only because we're smaller!
 Epel
Epel
From listening to all this I'm starting to think being short isn't such a drawback.
 Lilia
Lilia
There you go. Appearance and strength are not related. The power of your fists isn't what's important, it's technique. Also...
...you need to never want to lose. As well as just a bit of underhandedness.
 Epel
Epel
*chuckle* So what you're saying is to not fight fair-and-square.
 Lilia
Lilia
In fights, unlike sports, only victory matters.
 Epel
Epel
I will keep that in mind. Thank you for these lessons, Lilia, sir.
Um...would you be willing to help me with training again in the future?
 Lilia
Lilia
Sure. I'll help you if the fancy strikes me.
 Epel
Epel
Heck yeah!
 Lilia
Lilia
Make sure to keep up with your own training in the mean time. Then, I'll be off.
 Epel
Epel
Will do! Thank you again!
 Lilia
Lilia
Kuh hu hu. Oh, to be young. I feel like i've gotten a fair bit younger.
With new young spring in my step, I'm looking forward to my afternoon classes.
Hm...?
That reminds me, I feel like I've forgotten something important. What was it...?
 Crewel
Crewel
Vanrouge! You have some nerve to come to my class empty-handed.
Where is the twilight grass you need for today's lab?
 Lilia
Lilia
Ah! That is what I was forgetting!
 Crewel
Crewel
Go fetch! Cut the carelessness and go find what you need right this minute.
 Lilia
Lilia
Yeah, I will be right back with it.
The older you get, the more your memories goes. What a blunder.
