I Want to Find Out... I Want to Give It a Shot!

Today's group study was so much fun. Even if the information itself was already in my memory,
It was really interesting to hear a different opinion from each person on the same topic. Something I could have only discovered by studying together like this.
Let's see... How should I spend my lunch break today? It's always a little dull because everyone leaves for the cafeteria…
???
Hey, Ortho.
 Ortho
Ortho
Oh, that must be…
Ace Trappola-san, Deuce Spade-san, Yuu-san, and Grim-san!
Hi, everyone! Are you all going to the cafeteria?
 Deuce
Deuce
Yeah. Why don't you come with us? There's some popular bakery down at the foot of the hill in town that's supposed to come.
 Ace
Ace
A popular bakery, huh... But Ortho doesn't really eat like the rest of us, does he?
 Ortho
Ortho
Thanks for the invite! It's true I don't need to consume food for energy but...
I've always wondered what it would be like to talk with classmates over lunch. Do you mind if I join you?
 Grim
Grim
Guess we ain't got a choice! Just this once I'll give ya special permission. Just 'cus you won't be helping yourself to any of the food that's got Grim's name on it!
 Ortho
Ortho
Hehe. Thanks, Grim-san.
Choice 1: How are your classes going?
Choice 2: Is everything going good so far?
 Ortho
Ortho
Just fine! Before I used to attend class with my big brother...
And there are some other residents from Ignihyde in 1-C, too. I haven't had any issues so far.
 Deuce
Deuce
Glad to hear it! We may not be in the same class but if something's ever bothering you, come talk to me about it any time!
 Ortho
Ortho
Hehe. You already seem to be quite the "model" student. In that case, I'll take you up on the offer if I ever need to!
 Ace
Ace
It's pretty crowded today, huh. Let's see where we can find some open seats…
 Ortho
Ortho
There seem to be more of them over there at the far end on your right.
 Deuce
Deuce
At the far end on the right... He's right. There's enough room for all five of us at that table over there.
 Grim
Grim
Hey, not bad, Ortho!
 Ortho
Ortho
This is nothing. If you'd like, I can show you a map of where all the other students are sitting and their names.
Oh, at the table beside ours...
There's Jack Howl-san, Epel Felmier-san, and Sebek Zigvolt-san.
 Ace
Ace
Ugh, so that loudmouth's here... I can see why the next table over's empty.
 Sebek
Sebek
I beg your pardon?! It'syou all always working up such a loud fuss. Hurry up and be seated! Then shut your mouths and eat your food!
 Jack
Jack
Hmph, more like that goes for the both of ya...
 Epel
Epel
Hehe, Ortho-kun. Looks like you're already fitting in well. I couldn't even tell you apart from all the other students over there.
 Jack
Jack
Yeah, your uniform's just like ours. You make a real proper Night Raven College student.
 Deuce
Deuce
Oh, yeah! Do you mind giving me a sec after we're done? I wanted to ask you something about club practice.
 Jack
Jack
Yeah? OK, got it.
 Ortho
Ortho
Club huh... Seeing as I've been accepted as a student, I suppose I should join one, too.
 Grim
Grim
Aren't you in the board games club? I remember you showin' us around at the Joint Culture Festival.
 Ortho
Ortho
I was just helping out then. I'm not a member.
I've gone with my big brother a number of times and I'm also used to it...
But I often play board games with him and some of the other residents, too…
I don't really have a preference at the moment… Though I think I'd like to try something new.
 Epel
Epel
In that case, why not join the magift club?
I bet we could really use your head analyzing different teams and player skills!
I'm sure you'd be real pro at getting a lock on players as they're dashing across the big field. So um... What do you say?
 Ace
Ace
Nah, if we're talkin' about which club Ortho is best suited for, it's gotta be the basketball club hands down!
Making three point shots from the center line and stuff like that would be a total piece of cake, yeah? Bet you could even be a real top scorer.
If we had Ortho as a shooting guard we wouldn't have to worry about winning a single game.
 Deuce
Deuce
In that case, why not join the track and field club?
You could come up with all kinds of customized gear for events, too... I wanna see just how fast you can run.
 Jack
Jack
Even though I get what you're sayin', ain't sports about findin' your motivation through personal growth?
Sure you could probably go farther and faster fiddlin' around with different parts... But just having 'em attached like that wouldn't you be missin' out on the sense of achievement you get from buildin' your own muscle or somethin'?
 Sebek
Sebek
Hmph, in that case you should consider joining the equestrian club. Naturally you'd need to train and keep your parts polished…
While building a sense of trust with your steed is highly valued. The sport is a profound one.
 Ortho
Ortho
I'm so glad to hear all of you would welcome me into your club. They all seem like they would be a ton of fun! But…
Seeing as I can't compete under the same rules as any "normal person" would, I think it would be difficult to participate in any games...
 Epel
Epel
I see... It might be pretty boring for you if you couldn't compete in any of them... I guess?
 Ortho
Ortho
Not at all! I think I'd have a great time no matter which club I joined.
Just like Deuce-kun and Jack-kun said, it would give me the chance to try out all kinds of custom parts.
But right now, instead of improving my body's performance, I'd rather experience something new.
 Ace
Ace
Gotcha. In that case, why not give yourself a challenge by doin' something you've never tried before?
 Ortho
Ortho
Hmm, something I've never tried before... Maybe like... something to do with nature or art?
 Ace
Ace
If you're lookin' for somethin' like that, one of the culture clubs would be your best bet. But since all of us here are in sports clubs 'fraid we don't know much about 'em.
Choice 1: This school certainly has a number of them.
Choice 2: Something new you could try would be...
 Ortho
Ortho
I've gone over all the introductory data I have, and even though there are a lot of clubs... I still don't have enough data on them.
Yuu-san, are you free after school today?
I was thinking of going to observe some of them... Would you care to join me?
 Grim
Grim
Guess I'll just hafta tag along. Then I can show ya just what my very own Grim the Great's Gourmet Research Club is all about!
 Epel
Epel
I hope you find a good club to join!
 Ortho
Ortho
Thanks! Then I'll meet you and Grim in 1-A after class is over!
 Ortho
Ortho
Yuu-san, Grim-san! Thanks for waiting for me! Let's get started and go observe the culture clubs!
 Grim
Grim
Alright, now you're talkin'!
 Ortho
Ortho
First is... the pop music club!
Next... the gargoyle studies club.
Then... the science club.
And after that... the mountain lovers club.
 Grim
Grim
Haa...I'm exhausted! My stomach's actin' all funny, too.
 Ortho
Ortho

I'm sure it must be all of those things you ate off the ground while we were moving from club to club.
Even if they're harmless grass and nuts, they certainly aren't suitable for a cat-like animal's diet.
 Grim
Grim
Funya! Just who are you callin' a cat!
And I wasn't just eatin' stuff off the ground! Eatin' whatever looks good is one of the most important Grim the Great's Gourmet Club activities, I'll have you know!
 Ortho
Ortho
Is that so... I'm not sure I'm cut out for a club where consuming edible plants is one of its primary activities.
 Grim
Grim
Meh... Just when I was thinkin' you could help me find tons of even tastier stuff to eat! What a bummer!
 Ortho
Ortho
The only club we haven't visited yet is... the film research club.
Hehehe, I'm looking forward to seeing what it's like.
Choice 1: Do you like movies?
Choice 2: Are you interested in acting?
 Ortho
Ortho
Hmm... I'm not quite sure.
If you're asking if I have a big interest in movies and acting, I can't really say.
When my big brother first made me, I couldn't respond naturally like a real person would.
So in order to get better at making expressions he would give me movies to watch and study with.
Even now I still watch them when I have time.
Though it's still difficult for me to express my thoughts and impressions of them with my own words...
However, as far as the number of movies I've seen goes, I'm sure it's even more than any film critic!
 Grim
Grim
Movies, huh... Sometimes I watch 'em with Yuu!
A lot of 'em are so boring they put me to sleep... But hey, I can tell you all of the good ones!
 Ortho
Ortho
Of course! You'll have to give me the names of some interesting titles sometime.
Then I can give a list of other ones you might like based on their stories, directors, or casting.
 Grim
Grim
Sounds good! I can't wait.
 Ortho
Ortho

We should finish our observation before it starts getting dark, though. I heard they're filming in the courtyard today. Let's go!
Pomefiore Student A
Please... Don't go... U-Uwaaaaah...!!
 Vil
Vil
Cut! You, come over here.
Pomefiore Student A
Was something the matter with my performance?
I thought I was portraying the despair of the young man who'd lost the person he loves but...
 Vil
Vil
Then let me ask you this. Whenever you truly feel sad, does your crying sound that melodramatic?
Pomefiore Student A
Umm...
 Vil
Vil
Don't insult the audience. Everyone knows what it's like to feel sad or hurt.
Without overdoing it with your expressions or gestures... As the lead if you just can just capture those emotions welling up from inside of you, they're sure to resonate with the audience.
Pomefiore Student A
S-Sorry. I'll be careful not to overdo it next time.
 Grim
Grim
Sheesh, Vil's just as ruthless as ever.
 Ortho
Ortho
............
(Up until now...)
(I would watch movies with the intention of trying to figure out what to do so I could recreate the "life-like" expressions in them...)
(But even for real people, when it comes to their emotions... It seems very difficult for them to express how they feel.)
(If you just can just capture those emotions welling up from inside of you, they're sure to resonate with the audience...)
(I wonder what he means by that..?)
~Flashback~
 Idia
Idia
All this time you had your own sense of self-awareness... your own "heart".
 Ortho
Ortho
My own... "heart"?
 Idia
Idia
That's right. Now there's not anyone who can just rewrite your memories or the emotions you've been programmed with.
Not even me, the person who created you.
So you should be the one to decide... with your own "heart".
 Ortho
Ortho
(My "heart"... One that was created from the changes in my magical circuitry.
(Could the "heart" of a humanoid resonate with the "heart" of someone human...?)
(Something that no one's ever tried before... I want to find out! I want to give it a shot!)
 Vil
Vil
We'll begin shooting again in ten minutes. Go over what I've just told you.
Club Students
Yes sir!
 Ortho
Ortho
Vil Schoenheit-san!
 Vil
Vil
Well if it isn't Ortho. And you've brought Yuu and Grim with you. What's going on?
 Ortho
Ortho
Please let me join the film appreciation club!
 Vil
Vil
Oh?
If we had someone with your skill set, we could do even more with our productions. Or could it be that you're interested in acting?
 Ortho
Ortho
That's right! I want to try expressing my own "heart"!
If I were in this club, by experiencing the thoughts and feelings of someone else as if they were my own, I think I could learn even more about my own "heart".
 Vil
Vil
I see. Then I'll set up an audition for you.
...Is what I would normally say, but I already saw just how well you can act back on the Island of Woe.
In your case, it wouldn't be a stretch to say you could play a villain that would strike terror into anyone in the entire world.
 Ortho
Ortho

Does this mean...

 Vil

Welcome to the film research club. I'm glad to have you on board, Ortho.
